Our Team

Dr. Ruth Alerte Jones-Founder

After experiencing a heartbreaking miscarriage, Dr. Ruth Jones and her husband, Chad, walked through a season of grief that tested their faith. Through prayer, community, and trust in God, Dr. Jones found courage to speak about her loss. She discovered many other women were suffering silently. Her story became a bridge of hope, inspiring others to seek faith-based healing after pregnancy and infant loss.

From those conversations, The HEM Network was born—a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to helping grieving mothers and families find healing, encouragement, and support through faith. Dr. Jones began connecting families to grief resources, prayer, and safe spaces for emotional and spiritual restoration.

A licensed Optometrist with a heart for service, Dr. Jones has led vision care clinics overseas, and supported various ministries to strengthen community connection and fulfill her lifelong mission: to serve others through compassion, faith, and purpose.

The birth of her healthy child became a testimony of God’s redemption. Every step of her journey—from loss to healing—revealed a calling to help others find wholeness. Today, through The HEM Network, Dr. Jones continues to guide families through grief, infertility, and loss, offering faith-based support, healing resources, and a community of hope.

Our Board

In 2022, seven courageous women, spanning three states joined together to create the initial leadership team.   As women overcame the physical, the HEM Network would address the emotional, social, and spiritual challenges of miscarriage. Our board is the engine that keeps HEM running but also are blessed to have many volunteers donate their time towards the success of the organization.
